How to Convert a Visio 2003 .vdx File to a Visio 2002 .vdx File

Visio 2003 and Visio 2002 files are not backwards compatible. To convert a Visio 2003 file (.vdx) to a Visio 2002 file (.vdx), please follow the steps below:
- Open the Visio 2003 .vdx file and save it as a Visio 2002 .vsd.
Select File > Save As. In the 'Save as Type' field within the Save As dialog, select Visio 2002 Drawing (*.vsd) from the drop down list. Select Save and close the file.
- Open the newly created .vsd in Visio 2002 and save the file as a .vdx (Visio XML drawing).
